Early American Rusks and Irish Rusks

I’ve extracted information from the Rusk Roundup including a listing of the earliest known Rusk ancestors for members of the Rusk Family Organization and information on Rusks of Ireland from the Tithe Applotments and Griffith’s Valuation.

    I hit a wall with Gladys Rusk b. 19 Sep 1888 Missouri. According to the 1910 both her parents were born in United States. 1920 Census lists father from Iowa and mother from Missouri. 1930 Census lists both parents being from Missouri. Gladys was first married at age 14 to Claude Hudspeth in Pemiscot, Missouri and the officiating minister was W. J. F. Allen who was a well known Baptist minister. The two were married in Caruthersville, Pemiscot, Missour on Aug 07, 1903. Their first child Thomas Harlan Hudspeth was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, May 15 1904. Their second child was born in Kentucky. Claude is referenced in census records as being born in Kentucky.
